Today’s topic is something that can hit very close to home for a lot of people.  Tomorrow is “International Day of Persons with Disabilities Day”.  This is a relative new day in comparison to other days of recognition, however, even in the last decade, there have been so many more disabilities added under this umbrella.  There used to be an assumption that disability meant a physical impairment.  Now it can include ones that we cannot see.  In a world of quick judgement and negative things, we thought it was important to highlight this day as a reminder that everyone is dealing with things others can not see, not just disabilities, but other challenges as well.  On this day, we encourage everyone to think of ways they can be kinder and more patient in their everyday lives.  If you know of someone with a disability, do research to better understand their condition. Today is the day to take action in a positive way!

As always, if you have any questions about your child(ren)’s mental health, please feel free to contact your Bethel SEAC Team.
