The following was taken directly from the CDC website regarding recent changes in the mask requirement on public transportation conveyances and at transportation hubs. The change applies to masking on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems.
"Effective February 25, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is exercising its enforcement discretion to not require that people wear masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child care programs. CDC is making this change to align with updated guidance that no longer recommends universal indoor mask wearing in K-12 schools and early education settings in areas with a low or medium COVID-19 Community Level."
At the time this message was written, there were currently no mandates regarding masking applicable to public school students and staff members. The Bethel Local Schools do not have any additional local mandates and requirements in place. Therefore, masking is optional and up to the discretion of each individual student or staff member on our transportation system.
Thank you for your continued support of the Bethel Local Schools.

Dear Bethel Local Schools Supporters,
Yesterday (Friday), the Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) updated its mask guidelines for public transportation, which includes school transportation. As a result and effective immediately, the wearing of masks while riding on a school bus, van or other district-provided transportation is now optional. Please take some time to discuss this change as a family and provide guidance to your student(s) on what is best for them.
With Bethel Pride,
Justin M. Firks

Superintendent

Site work for the K-5 Building & Athletic Stadium projects have continued this winter. We fully expect masonry work to begin in the next several weeks on the K-5 building as the weather begins to clear.
Thank you to the continued efforts of Garmann Miller Architects & Peterson Construction on this exciting project! Attached is the final rendering of the K-5 building. It will be open for the start of the 2023-24 school year. The existing K-5 building will be used for overflow space for the next 6-8 years.
This project is being completed without asking for any additional tax dollars from our Bethel residents! #BethelLegacy
